
Benjamin P. Shenkman has practiced law in Palm Beach County for over 20 years, concentrating on estate planning and administration, and asset protection planning.
Mr. Shenkman holds an advanced Master of Laws (LL.M.) Degree in Estate Planning from the University of Miami School of Law, giving him in-depth knowledge of sophisticated estate tax planning strategies. Mr. Shenkman earned a Juris Doctor degree from St. Thomas University School of Law in Miami, Florida, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Temple University in Philadelphia.
Mr. Shenkman counsels individuals and families in arranging their affairs to protect and preserve their assets for themselves and their beneficiaries.
He began his career at a boutique Palm Beach County tax law firm, where he gained valuable experience in creating complex estate tax saving strategies. He later served as the resident attorney and partner of the South Florida office of a New York tax law firm, before establishing his own practice in Boca Raton, which he ran for a decade before joining with Frank Gonzalez in Wellington.
Mr. Shenkman is a frequent speaker and commentator on estate planning topics, including appearances on the public television program “Wealth & Wisdom.” He has been a guest on local radio shows, is a former contributor to The Palm Beach Post column, “The Law and You,” and has lectured to financial professionals at many national financial firms.
He currently serves on the board of managers of the Boys & Girls Club of Wellington and is a trustee of the Central Palm Beach County Chamber of Commerce, is a former board member of the Arthur R. Marshall Foundation for the Everglades, and helped found the Palms West Estate Planning Council. He is also a member of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section of The Florida Bar and a member of the East Coast Estate Planning Council. In his spare time, Mr. Shenkman trains in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and enjoys reading and travelling.
